Saboten: House of the original Tonkatsu

Hi there! Here’s another food review.

This time, I tried Japanese cuisine at Saboten in Serendra. It boasts of its original and delicious Tonkatsu.

We ordered the Katsu platter. So this has pork, beef, shrimp, bacon and the best of all, crab!  I really loved this set, quite filling and can be shared for 2 to 3 pax.

Paired with my favorite cabbage with this magical sauce – it really is heaven as you taste it!1896740_10203354862096578_1123600836_n

And here’s our photo before we dived into binge mode. Hahaha

It was a fun experience! Good food + great people = Happiness overload!

The staff were really nice and accommodating. The place was clean and cozy.

I will give Saboten 5 out 5 stars. Rating based on the Katsu platter and the cleanliness of the place.

Feast at 8Cuts Burger

Couple of weeks ago, while we were in Manila doing some wedding planning, my soon-to-be brother and sis-in-law invited us to feast on the very popular 8Cuts Burger. This has amazing reviews apparently and is the talk of the town. 🙂

Imagine how hard this has been for someone who needs to lose some weight since wedding is coming soon. Hahaha

In the end, we had to dig in.

That is their menu. Pretty cool layout!1654217_10203325697767488_1552365412_nI loved the ambiance and how friendly some staff were. The thing that turned me off was the wait time though. We were in the waiting list for almost an hour before we can finally sit down. Then, once we ordered, we had to wait another hour and a half before the burgers arrived.

Out of the 4 burgers we ordered, 3 were very good.

Here are the burgers we ordered.

First is the Burger with Bacon on it. Cannot remember the name anymore! Haha But Dadoo loved this. He gives it 4/5 stars.

Below is the burger with Blue cheese! Lovely! This was ordered by my sis-in-law to be, Chai. She loved how the blue cheese complimented the patty.1960083_10203325699447530_1021692296_n

Next is the Double Cheeseburger which my bro-in-law to be adored! It was gone in a few minutes!1779973_10203325699207524_167750495_n

Finally, the Cheese Burger which I ordered. This was pretty plain for me. Not something I would want to order again and queue for hours.

After finishing the burger, this is what we looked like! Haha1779158_10203325692847365_826409539_nOverall, the food was good. It was the wait time that I hated more. But the rest of us loved the food. So I give this 4 starts out of 5.

I will be ordering a different set next time I come back! 🙂

Hello Philippines!

We came home to Manila for some wedding stuff. But family bonding is a HUGE part of the trip!

Before I tell you more about the wedding preparation, let me share some photos with my family. From the airport, we went to Mr. Kurosawa right away! We had a good lunch! Japanese food in Manila taste really good!
